That fits Umbreon perfectly. It is a night creature, calm and a little distant.

In early 2024, a PSA 10 sold for around $1,800 to $2,500. So the price has roughly doubled.

The card is also hard to grade. The dark background shows every small mark on the edges, so buying a raw copy hoping for a PSA 10 is a gamble.

We would collect it as a picture, not as a rare. Rarity only tells you how many were printed — it says nothing about whether the art is any good. This one is. That is why it belongs in a collection, and why it will still belong there in twenty years.

was not a well-known name when he drew the illustration. His first Pokémon card was a Magmortar back in 2019, and he has illustrated just over sixty cards in total. A short list next to the veterans of the hobby. Choosing a quiet moment over a battle pose was a risk on a card built for fighting. It paid off.

He is today a name collectors look for. In February 2025 he signed posters of this artwork at the Europe International Champion-ships, and fans lined up for it.

Of all the Eevee evolutions,
it is the most popular by far.
